Who am I?
Despite my angry face in the photo you see, I am very different in my daily life.
I'm mostly smiling and enjoying my moments with my loved ones.
Yet, when it comes down to my craft, I pursue it very seriously and professionally.
I'm Reza, born in February 2000! I was born in a small village in the west of Iran. I moved to the Netherlands five years ago as a refugee.
Until the beginning of 2024, I was a professional karate fighter, ranked top 10 in the world in 2023. However, I decided to switch from the traditional martial art to kickboxing and MMA, known as cage fighting, and I will soon turn professional in this beautiful yet brutal sport.
I have done karate for over a decade. I started martial arts with wrestling at five years old and turned to karate at ten years old.
Since I was sixteen years old, I have been coaching people in sports. Back in my village in Iran, we didn't really have coaches most of the time. So, I took the responsibility to coach my teammates.
A couple of years later, I started working at SportCity in the Netherlands, and I have worked there for nearly three years, giving group lessons as well as personal training.
I officially started my personal training business a year ago in a studio in Leiden.
I have been a certified trainer since 2018, and have fit Vak A, B, and C working knowledge and experience. In June 2026, I also completed a 10-week functional patterns program in the biomechanics of human posture and movements.
Also, next to the other four languages that I speak, I have Dutch language level B1 proficiency.
It feels like my calling is to coach people. I absolutely enjoy it, and I feel truly passionate about it!
